Australian School–based Apprenticeships (ASBAs) offer students, 15 years of age or over, the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognized vocational qualification by combining paid work and training as part of their educational program.
Students enrolled in an ASBA attend the workplace for 8 hours each week as well as up to 5 hours per week at an RTO (Registered Training Organisation) to complete the nationally recognized vocational qualification i.e. Certificate II or Certificate III in their chosen apprenticeship.
On successful completion of the ASBA, students will receive their vocational certificate, along with their ACT Year 12 Certificate. This opportunity affords students a great head start in their career.
Students interested in an ASBA should see the Careers Adviser to discuss options and the process for securing an ASBA.
