Another exciting part of VET

Vocational Education and Training (VET) is a focus area within Years 11 and 12 at Trinity Christian School, creating different educational pathways for our students.

VET subjects in which many college students are enrolled include Hospitality, Music, Information Technology, Outdoor Education, Early Childhood Care and Fashion Design.

Another exciting part of VET at Trinity is the possibility of completing an ASBA (Australian School Based Apprenticeship). John Lauder of Year 11 is the first 2015 student to start an ASBA studying a Certificate II in Construction. For the rest of Year 11 and 12, John will spend one day per week out in industry with his employer, and three hours every week studying at the Master Builders Training facility in Fyshwick. John and his father, Michael, are very excited that John will not only be completing his Year 12, and learning a trade during this time, but will also be paid for the work that he does with his employer. We would like to thank OC Building for offering John this opportunity and congratulate John for his enthusiasm and eagerness to take on this challenge.

If you are considering pursuing the option of an ASBA in Year 11 and 12, please contact Mr Tony Davies for more details.
