Tickets are now on sale for Trinity Christian School’s production of High School Musical on Stage!

This week, we sat down with members of the cast and asked some key questions about the team, the characters and what to expect from this exciting show. High School Musical runs from 1- 5 May 2018 at the Erindale Theatre. Buy your tickets now from our website: www.tcs.act.edu.au/musical

Why did you want to be involved in this production?

When I was younger, if I wasn’t singing High School Musical songs or dancing to the ones in my head, you could be sure that I was up to no good! I have ALWAYS loved these movies and so had to be in the production. (Izzy Ogilvie, Ensemble)

How is this production bringing something new to this story, that isn’t covered or is different from the Disney movie?

The show’s style is more comical than the original movie. It has a Trinity twist and also pays homage to lots of different pop culture. (Alexander Thorpe, Ryan)

Who has the best costume?

I think Sharpay’s costumes are the best because they are fun and fancy! (Abi James, Gabriella)

Who in the show is most like their character?

Sam van den Bos who plays Sharpay. She really embodies Sharpay’s personality. (Mitchell France, Chad)

Which is the most relatable character?

The most relatable character is probably Gabriella. We all know what it’s like to be the new kid and to have to try and fit in. (Abi James, Gabriella)

If you had to name the most interesting character in the whole show, who is it?

Mrs Darbus! (Abi James, Mitchell France, Izzy Ogilvie, Tate Sissian)

Without giving anything away, what’s your favourite line of dialogue?

My favourite lines are: “What did you do over the break Sharpay? Your nails or your scales?... Scales. Just like all the other snakes.” It gets me every time. (Yasemin Rogers, Ensemble)

What will the audience be thinking about in the car as they drive home after the show?

I really do hope they think about the time and effort that has gone into the show. Not many people will see behind the scenes of this production, but those of us in it will always remember. It’s an impressive show, and that doesn’t happen on its own. (Izzy Ogilvie, Ensemble)

There are several hidden Trinity staff members in the cast, how do you think they measure up?

They definitely bring something interesting to the stage. But just what that is… you’ll have to wait to find out! (Tate Sissian, Troy)
