Celebrating the cultural diversity in our community
The Multicultural Walkathon was great, we were treated to amazing displays and interesting foods from;
Japan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Sudan, South Korea, Lebanon, England x2, South Africa, Greece and India. Mr Clayton opened the event with a prayer followed by Mr Parker, representing Scotland, who entertained us with a bagpipe performance.
The students had so much fun walking around a 1km track and then visiting a country. Each of the country's displays gave the students an opportunity to experience the culture, food, money, clothing, games and traditional items originating from their country. When they were finished they collected a stamp for their passports and headed on their way around the track again and back to the COLA, in search of the next country to visit.
