Outdoor Education

Outdoor education enhances the growth of personal and social skills, promotes the development of environmental awareness and enables acquisition of skills that are not always accessible in the classroom. At Trinity Christian School there are many avenues for students to engage in outdoor education as they progress through the School.

Students from Years 4 – 12 participate in annual school camps. Our camp program provides a time for students to build friendships, develop practical life skills and explore outdoor education adventures, challenges and initiatives.

In the Senior School, students can complete specific Outdoor Education subjects, as well as participate in co-curricular activities such as Duke of Edinburgh.

A key aspect of these courses is the development of a positive relationship between people and the natural environment. Strong interest and individual commitment are essential. Additional camps, field trips and practical sessions involve time outside the regular timetable. Students may be involved in activities that are physically, emotionally or interpersonally challenging.
